A HIGHWORTH hairdresser styled dozens of supermodels who appeared at the Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks.

Karoliina Saunders had a whirlwind week working with top designers and stylists to make eye-catching hairstyles for many models before they strutted their stuff on the catwalk.

In Milan, she worked backstage with streetwear brand GCDS and designers Dolce & Gabbana to create spectacular styles for hundreds of models.

She said: “Milan was mad.

“I managed to grab only 10 hours sleep in three days.

“The stress was off the scale but so worth it, as the end result was stunning.

“It was all work and travel and no free time, but I loved every single minute.

“As well as the amazing clothes, the hair was bedecked with natural flowers, headpieces and crowns.

“Mingling backstage with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova, Karen Elson, Carla Bruni and my own personal childhood heroine, Isabella Rossellini was surreal.”

Karoliina worked with Syd Hayes at God Can’t Destroy Streetwear and Guido Palau at D&G.

She added: “The GCDS clothes were full of colour and energy with a cartoon feel.

“We created crazy hair and worked on 50-plus models.

“Syd loves creating lots of energy.

“With banging tunes in the background, we had huge fun while managing to get all the models finished on time.

“The D&G show was huge.

“There were 170 models taking part.

“With diversity as the show’s theme, there were models of all ages and sizes, with celebrities as well as models from the street, all strutting down the runway.

“Working with Guido was everything I hoped it would be.

“He’s a true hair hero.”

Karoliina has just returned to her Hair Design salon in Sheep Street from Paris Fashion Week, where she worked at the cutting edge of French fashion and worked her magic on even more models.
