TSB staff and partners were put through their paces on the pedals to raise hundreds of pounds for the Open Door Centre.

They cycled over 65 miles in the Swindon branch of the bank in the Parade, which is the distance of a return trip from Swindon to Cheltenham, while others made tasty cakes and bakes to sell.

Then, Dan Cowen, local Community Superhero at TSB Swindon, did the ride for real to raise even more cash.

He said: “It was not only a great achievement for me but a rewarding one for our charity.

“Our team has worked hard to make this a success.

“We had our baking partners Sarah Newitt and Kelly Harris bake some wonderful cakes which we sold on the Monday and Tuesday along with a tray of raspberry and coconut cake brought in by our local charity partner.

“Id really like to thank all our partners who took part and everyone who has supported them, to Adam at Kiss Gym for the loan of the static bike.

“Thanks to all who sponsored me on my ride, not to mention our wonderful customers for their donations.

“It’s fantastic to know that our efforts will help such a great cause.”

Pat Winning, deputy manager, of the Open Door Centre, said:“We’re so grateful for the hard work that staff at TSB have done for us, especially their amazing work on fundraising on our behalf with special thanks to Dan Cowen.

“We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you for the deep kindness that TSB have shown to our members at all times.”

The Open Door Centre supports adults with learning disabilities by organising fun activities and helping them become independent.
