POLICE have seized motorcycles in a series of patrols aimed at tackling antisocial behaviour in North Swindon.

Two young men who were stopped are to face a number of driving offences.

Swindon North Police said on social media: "There have been a mixture of officers conducting uniform and plain clothes patrols in vehicles, bicycles and on foot.

"Thanks to the team's persistent efforts they managed to stop two males on motorbikes that have been riding around Penhill in an anti-social manner."

The seizures come just a week after police from the same team found stolen motorcycles in a garage on Heddington Close.

Residents have complained they are being plagued by riders using recreation land, car parks and pavements as well as the roads.

Earlier this month a new community watch group of motorbike owners claimed thefts were becoming a daily occurrence and that some riders had even had their machines stolen from under them. They also shot video of what they claimed was joyriders using stolen bikes on the streets, often without helmets.
