8 A Square World is a story of friends who enjoy the same routine day after day. Each day is the same until an unexpected change is forced upon just one of them. This accidental happening throws everyone into disarray, the friends are suddenly divided into those who can and the one who can’t. The friends realise their daily routine is no longer as enjoyable as it was and together decide they need to redefine the rules of the square world where they live. By injecting a little fun and chaos they soon discover their lives won’t be square ever again! The show looks at the unfairness of being left out in a world designed for everyone else but yourself. This non-verbal story, created and performed by Daryl Beeton, a writer, performer and producer who has worked extensively within the Theatre, Disability and young people’s arts sector for the last 20 years. It is set to an original commissioned soundtrack and uses clean-cut simple design, object manipulation and elements of surprise to create an ever evolving and imaginative world. A place where we discover anything can happen once we think differently and rip up the rule book. A Square World is at the Egg Theatre tomorrow and Sunday. 10 For aspiring archeologists visit the the Alexander Keiller Museum tomorrow. Situated at the prehistoric monument of Avebury, the museum houses one of the most important prehistoric archaeological collections in Britain, housed in the Stables Gallery, and including many artefacts from the World Heritage Site (WHS) monuments. The admission fee includes access to both the Stables and Barn Galleries. The Barn Gallery (belonging to the National Trust) tells the story of the WHS, its monuments, and the people associated with it. The Museum, which sits within the Avebury WHS, is in the freehold ownership of The National Trust and in English Heritage guardianship on behalf of the Secretary of State for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport; the museum collection is on loan from the DCMS. Avebury henge and stone circles are one of the greatest marvels of prehistoric Britain. Built and much altered during the Neolithic period, roughly between 2850 BC and 2200 BC, the henge survives as a huge circular bank and ditch, encircling an area that includes part of Avebury village. Within the henge is the largest stone circle in Britain - originally of about 100 stones - which in turn encloses two smaller stone circles. Avebury is part of an extraordinary set of Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial sites that seemingly formed a vast sacred landscape. They include West Kennet Avenue, West Kennet Long Barrow, The Sanctuary, Windmill Hill, and the mysterious Silbury Hill. Many can be reached on foot from the village.
