A DISCO night will raise funds to help refugees in Swindon and Calais.
Cash raised at the fundraiser will go towards projects Swindon City of Sanctuary and Care for Calais, a UK charity delivering food, bedding, clothes and medical aid to refugees living in northern France and Belgium.
Called a Kinda Christmas Disco, the event will feature live music, a DJ and food from around the world.
Annie Vickers of Swindon City of Sanctuary said last year’s disco was sold out and urged people to get their tickets early: “There’s going to be fabulous music and great food. The last time we had a disco it sold out and the dance floor was rammed.
“The money raised for City of Sanctuary will go towards our transport fund, which helps destitute asylum seekers and new refugees who have no money get out into the community using Swindon’s bus network.
“The fund is about breaking down the barriers of loneliness, isolation and lack of opportunity one bus ride at a time.”
The disco will be on Saturday, November 24, from 8pm at Moose Hall on Eastcott Road. £5 entry on the door.
