A FIXTURE of Regent Street who entertained thousands of town centre shoppers has died aged 83.
Michael Thomas Nelder, best known as the ‘harmonica man’, died in the early hours of yesterday morning – it is not yet known what caused his death.
Now a GoFundMe page has been set up by his friend Ferdie Oliveira to help cover his funeral costs and give Michael a final goodbye from the community of Swindon.
Tributes have already been flooding in for the musician with the funding page already at £2,873 within 21 hours of being created, nearly 300 people have donated.
Michael had previously won a Pride Of The Community Award after being voted by the public, recognising his days playing the instrument to bring a smile to passing shoppers come rain or shine.
