A BURGLAR wreaked havoc when he broke into a town centre wine bar.
Between approximately 6am and 7am on Sunday January 6, a man forced his way into Byron’s Wine Bar in Byron Street, Regent Circus, causing extensive damage to the door.
Once inside, he attempted to break intothe pool table and cash registers, causing even more damage, then fled when the alarms activated.
Police are appealing for information.
PC Connor Crespin said: “This incident has left the bar owner feeling understandably shaken and concerned.
“We are fully investigating this incident and would ask that anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area around these times on Sunday, should call police immediately.
“Regent Circus is a busy area and it is likely there would have been people around the area at the time.”
Anyone who can help should call police on 101.
