Here are some of the cases to have appeared before Swindon Magistrates' Court.

Damaged police car

Samuel Bowles, 37, of Cambria Bridge Road, was fined £120 for beating another and damaging a police car. He pleaded guilty and must pay £100 compensation to his victim and £30 to police.

A Hampshire man admitted beating-up another in June last year. Jonathan Jones, of Stirling Crescent, Hedge End, pleaded guilty to assaulting Prince Pilime in Swindon. He was fined £80 and told to pay £50 compensation, a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Racist made calls

An Eldene racist who made indecent phone calls to a woman must do 250 hours of unpaid work.

Dylan Kirby, 43, of Ecklington, pleaded guilty to racially harassing one woman at her workplace and making threatening and indecent phone calls to another.

He must pay £150 compensation and court costs of £170.

Drink drivers

Graeme Leighfield, 33, of Bullfinch Close, Covingham, has been handed a 12 month driving ban after admitting to a drink driving charge.

The Covingham man had 55 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath when he was stopped behind the wheel of a black BMW in October. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was fined £276 and told to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

A Haydon Wick man has been banned from getting behind the wheel for a year, after being found drink driving on Mead Way last October.

Michal Windak, 34, of Trent Road, had 56 microgrammes of alcohol on his breath. The limit is 35.

He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined 292 and told to pay £85 in costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
