The session was based around helping the seven and eight-year-old children learn what makes a great news story and how they can create one of their own.
It was brilliant to see so many young people interested in writing and in journalism in general. To see the excitement on their faces when they were explaining what had happened was fantastic.
I was asked some excellent questions, such as why I wanted to be a journalist, and how did I get into doing this job.
The children were also eager to show me the scene of where the fossil had been found, making sure I picked it up delicately after giving me permission to touch the remains.
I can’t wait to read the stories once they are finished - they are going to be great.
