Families across Swindon are being invited to support people with breast cancer by signing up for Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbon Walk at Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds.

Challenge yourself to walk a 10 or 20 mile tailor-made route at the Pink Ribbon Walk in association with Skechers on Saturday 18 May, which starts and finishes in the grounds of the historic palace in Woodstock.

Everyone will be cheered across the finish line and will receive a complimentary hot meal, massage and medal after completing the route.

More than 150 people* in Swindon will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and funds raised will help the charity find ways to prevent the disease, develop new treatments and support people with the physical and emotional impact of breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbon Walk Manager, Preena Mistry, said: “We’ll support you with every step while you do something amazing for everyone affected by breast cancer. Together, we can provide support for today and hope for the future.

“We’ve got everything covered on the route from snack stations and toilets to trained guides, so you can focus on enjoying the scenery. We’ll be there to cheer you across the finish line where you’ll receive a complimentary hot meal, massage and that all important medal to commemorate your achievement.”

Everyone who takes part will be invited to write a personal message on a pink ribbon and add it to the display of ribbons at the end of the walk, which is home to 15 years’ worth of tributes.

Preena added: “We’ve been collecting your messages of love and support on our display of ribbons for 15 years and we hold on to every single one. We can’t wait for you to add yours.”

Sign up today to take part in the Pink Ribbon Walk for a £20 registration fee. Visit www.breastcancercare.org.uk/walking. Breast Cancer Care is asking all walkers to raise at least £100.
