A TEENAGER was held at knife-point and stripped of his coat and trainers.

The 16-year-old was walking near the Central Convenience Stores on Sycamore Grove, Trowbridge, yesterday when he was approached by a young man wearing a hooded coat and camouflage balaclava.

The man threatened his teen victim with a knife and stole a number of items, including his bag, coat and trainers. The young victim was left shaken by the incident.

Police said the suspect had made off from the scene together with a man and a woman. The other man is described as white, short and chubby, and the woman as skinny, blonde with a distinctive red puffa jacket.

A 15-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released under investigation.

Appealing for witnesses, Acting Det Sgt Rachel Winter of Melksham CID said: "Any incident which involves the threat of weapons will understandably be concerning for the local community.

"I want to reassure people that we are taking this incident seriously and positive action has been taken to deal with those responsible.

"The College Road area would have been busy at that time of the afternoon, and the youths involved were thought to be hanging around the college. People may have seen something or captured something on their car dash-cam which they did not realise was significant at the time. I would urge anyone who has information which could assist with our investigation to come forward and speak to police."
