THE heavy snow forecast for Swindon tomorrow is expected to start falling in the early evening.

According to an updated Met Office forecast, it will start snowing at around 7pm and continue until 10pm.

The yellow weather warning stays in place until noon on Wednesday.

The warning says Swindon will have 'snow, possibly heavy at times, developing overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday'.

Temperatures will drop to -1C on Monday night, -2C on Tuesday night and -5C on Wednesday night.

According to the Met Office when there is a yellow warning:

- There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel

- There is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off

- There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected
