SWINDON Folk Club is hosting one of its regular club nights tonight.
There are no guest performers, so anyone can get up and play a few songs.
A spokesman for the club said: " The atmosphere is friendly and encouraging, so come along and have a go. It doesn’t matter how good you are – we all had to start somewhere.
"All styles are welcomed from across the spectrum: vocal and instrumental, traditional and modern, music hall, blues, ragtime and country. We also welcome poems and story telling.
"It takes guts to perform, and can be very nerve wracking, so we ask everyone to not chat during a performance and be respectful."
The event will be held at the club's new venue, the RAFA Swindon Social Club, from 7.45pm to 11pm. Entry costs £3.
The Swindon Folk Club meets up on the first and third Friday of every month.
