A GROUP of artists have had their work put on display in aid of promoting better mental health.
The exhibit, which is at John Lewis at Home at Mannington retail park, is part of Swindon Wellbeing and Arts Festival.
The festival is a week-long event across Swindon with exhibits, talks, dance sessions and art workshops to try to get people to discuss their mental wellbeing.
Lisa Lane, who has her work on display said she uses essential oils in her art that help calm her.
She said: “The piece is called Lost in Lavender and I use oil paints mixed with essential oils, so that the painting actually smells of lavender.
“You use essential oils in aroma therapy and they help to promote calmness and when your using them to paint it really does help."
Asked what she thought of the festival Lisa said: “It’s brilliant. It’s a long time coming and it’s good to highlight the link between art and wellbeing.
“I hope it highlights that there are many small things you can do to help your mental health like art or music.”
