A FUNDRAISER has been set up for an OAP persuaded by a woman posing as his granddaughter to hand over his £286 pension.
The 72-year-old gave the woman his Post Office bank card, which was used to withdraw the cash last week.
Police called it a horrible crime, which had left the elderly victim confused and out of pocket.
Now, an online fundraiser has been set up in a bid to reimburse the man.
North Swindon man Jamie Brewer, 26, launched the £300 appeal on Wednesday evening: “I felt bad for him. The old man is 72-years old.
“It’s for the community to help each other out. If it were my granddad, I would hope somebody would help him out."
I don’t know this man’s background. The appeal is just to give something back. He’s 72 and he’s not getting his pension.”
