A JUNIOR golf champion has put away more than £900 for Prospect Hospice in memory of his grandmother.

Freddie Titcombe, who has won the Broome Manor Golf Club's Junior Championship covering the whole of Wiltshire a total of three times, raised £910 for Prospect Hospice through a junior tournament he arranged last November.

He was joined by over 80 junior and adult golfers who raised money through donated team entry fees, competitions, raffles and a cake sale.

Local businesses, club members and their families all donated prizes to raise the impressive amount.

Freddie chose to support Prospect Hospice in memory of his grandmother, Jenny Titcombe, who was looked after by the hospice before she died.

"We're extremely proud of Freddie for how he's handled his junior captaincy and for organising the charity golf day in aid of Prospect Hospice," said Andrew Emanuel, junior organiser.

"Thanks so much, Freddie, for your fantastic work making it all happen," said Hollie Ricketts, Prospect Hospice’s Community Fundraiser.

"Our thanks also go out to Andrew Emanuel, Lee Hayward and everyone who helped make the day such a great success."

The hospice in Wroughton has been providing a palliative care service to people in the Swindon area since 1980.
