THIEVES stole Samsung phones worth thousands of pounds from a town centre shop.

Three men went into the Carphone Warehouse on Regent Street just before 4pm on January 17 and helped themselves to two Samsung S9s, one A7, a Note 9, and two S9+s from a display.

They left the shop with the phones worth around £4,800.

Police have released CCTV images of three suspects they need help identifying.

PC Keith MacDonald said: "From our investigations so far, this high-value theft appears to be linked to a national gang who have been targeting a series of stores across the country in a similar fashion.

"Do you know who they are? Or were you in the area at the time and have some information that may help us to identify them? Maybe you've been offered one of the stolen phones - any piece of information, no matter how small or insignificant, could be vital to our investigation."

PC MacDonald also warned anyone buying the phones thinking they had secured a bargain.

He added: "I would urge anyone who is offered these phones to decline the offer and let us know instead.

"Not only would you be purchasing stolen goods but you would be getting a lot less than you expect - the phones all have limited function as they have display software loaded and will not work properly."

Anyone with information about the three men pictured should call 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to report anonymously.
