PEOPLE living on a tight budget can get advice and tips at by joining a free an eight-week life skills course in Highworth.
Highworth Churches Together is running another course to give people what they need to eat well, make better decisions and increase their confidence. The church has been resourced by the charity Christians Against Poverty which runs hundreds of such courses across the UK alongside debt help, job clubs and more.
CAP Life Skills is an eight-week course that brings people together to learn how to deal with the pressure to spend, how to decide what to spend on. cooking cheap but healthy meals, spotting a good deal, and improving relationships
One course member said: “It made me think about what I’m spending and helped me save for different things. The CAP Life Skills coaches were very good and really approachable. I know I can go back anytime and ask them questions.”
Course manager Eoli Pieri said: “We find that on these courses we laugh as much as we learn – it’s not like school used to be.We have some really great conversations and find out some brilliant techniques that can give each of us a head start when we’re dealing with life’s pressures. It’s especially good for anyone who is on a tight budget and wants to make their money go further. Even better: the sessions are all free.”
