A MUSICAL fitness marathon is on track to raise £4,000 for the Special Care Baby Unit at GWH.
The five-and-a-half-hour Body Combat event saw dozens of people keeping fit to music at DW Fitness in North Swindon. Natalie Burt from Wroughton organised it with two other instructors.
She said: "It was knackering, it wasn't easy. I'm taking a break from teaching soon because of my bad knees, and the other instructors have a bad hip and a bad leg, so we're all a bit broken.
"Everyone was really enthusiastic, they were shouting and singing along, which kept us all going. Several people who took part had used the baby unit and did this challenge for their kids and grandkids.
"Some brought in cakes to sell so people snacked between songs to keep their energy up."
This is the 10th year that the event has been held - it's raised more than £30,000 for charities including Mind, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and Prospect Hospice. Brighter Futures won this year's vote.
