A MAN stole a purse from a woman in her 70s while she shopped in the town centre.
The elderly victim withdrew money from a cashpoint at the Brunel Shopping Centre Sainsbury's at around 10am on February 27.
While she shopped, she noticed a man near her who at one point seemed to put his hand on her trolley.
Later, she realised that her handbag was unzipped and open, and that her purse full of bank cards and cash had been taken from it without her noticing.
Wiltshire Police are investigating the theft and released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
Anyone with information about the theft or who recognises the man pictured (right) should call PC Mark Sin from the South Swindon Community Policing Team on 101.
