PEOPLE with disabilities can get free expert coaching from professional snooker players at a weekend-long competition at Jesters Snooker Club.
The World Disability Billiards and Snooker event, held between March 22 and 24, will have an open day on Friday for people with disabilities which will including free coaching for groups and individuals from the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association.
There will then be a competition for people with sensory impairments and learning disabilities the following day.
WDBS Chairman Nigel Mawer said: “Snooker and Billiards are among the few sports which can be played by anyone, regardless of age and gender, and the WDBS will give more chances to people with disabilities to meet up and play competitively."
Jesters Snooker Club, on Greenbridge Road, is a fully wheelchair-accessible club and part of a national 147 Club initiative – a network of safe and enjoyable venues in which to play the sport.
Beginners or experienced players that are keen to take part can let the organisers know they are coming by emailing bob.hill@wpbsa.com
