A controversial plan to build a warehouse, and distribution centre and research and development facilities on green fields between Swindon and Wanborough attract highly skilled and talented people, the developers have said.

Wasdell Group, which wants to create the science park, hopes new images released by its architects show it won't be a blot on the landscape.

The pharmaceuticals company, which is based in Blagrove in Swindon is looking to expand and wants a bigger facility on the edge of town near the A419 and the M4.

It has also applied for permission in principle to build facilities for other high-tech companies to use in phase two of the development.

The company say both phases of the development will bring 1,200 jobs to the town.

But villagers in Wanborough have already submitted hundreds of objections to planners at the borough council saying the plan is out of keeping with the area and will contribute to urban sprawl eroding the space between the village and town.
