NSPCC staff raised £200 during their charity night with the Swindon Wildcats at the Link Centre earlier this month.

Staff from the Swindon service Centre, based in Old Town, handed out leaflets during the game and sold raffle tickets for a signed shirt at the home fixture.

Caroline Morgan, fundraising manager for Wiltshire, said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to the Swindon Wildcats for letting us and Pantosaurus come to the game.

“We all had a great time and managed to raise £200 for the NSPCC through donations and raffling off a special signed shirt. The NSPCC is 90 per cent funded by voluntary donations, so we must say we are extremely grateful to those who gave.”

The charity night was the first of several events planned for the year, as local staff look to raise £10,000 to celebrate 25 years of being in the town.

Swindon Wildcats Commercial Manager, Sally Price said: "It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the NSPCC to the game last Saturday. They are such a fantastic charity with such a dedicated and passionate team.

“They truly brought the fun with them but at the same time raising awareness of this great cause."

Spectators were greeted by Pantosaurus, who is a mascot for the charity’s #TalkPANTS campaign, which asks parents to speak to children about sexual abuse.
