A PARADE of vintage motorcycles from every decade in the 20th century will line a Tesco car park next month for Prostate Cancer UK.

Bike enthusiast Colin Myler, who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, will line up ten Royal Enfield bikes from the last 100 years at the annual Easter charity car boot sale in the Tesco Ocotal Way car park in April.

First in the line up will be his own 225 cc1919 Royal Enfield which has been celebrating 100 years this year together with Tesco.

Colin rode from Lands End to John 'O Groats in 1992 to raise around £20,000 for the British Heart Foundation after his dad had a heart attack.

Impressed with the longevity of his vintage bike Royal Enfield have lent Colin the latest Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 2019 model, which was launched earlier this month.

He told the Advertiser: "I've been speaking to Royal Enfield and they were absolutely amazed to hear that I was still riding a 100-year-old motorbike. They couldn't believe it!

"That's why they've given us two of the latest brand new models, and there aren't that many in the country but they've let us have one for the event, so I think that's brilliant.

"I've covered most years, the only years I haven't got confirmed is a 1930 and '40s model.

"Mine being the 1919 will start the parade and then we'll finish with the most recent one."

Colin hopes to do the return journey from John O' Groats back to Lands End next year to complete the full tour 28 years later.

He added: "The absolute top speed that bike is capable of is 30mph so I travelled on average about 18mph. I did it in five days and travelled 934 miles in total."

The 1919 bike is the same specification of the ones used by First World War dispatch riders so Colin rode it in the parade for the Centenary celebrations in Swindon in November.

He's now hoping he can complete the lineup with other Royal Enfield bikes donated from friends and the local branch of the Vintage Motorcycle Club.

Colin added: "My friend is also bringing a 1926 Triumph with a side car on it.

"I would love for it to be all Royal Enfield but whether or not I can achieve that I'm not certain.

"But we will have a motorcycle lineup which will show the public how motorcycles have developed over the 100-year period."

Colin has been receiving treatment for Prostate Cancer since being diagnosed in December 2017.

He added: "Prostate Cancer UK has been a very great support to me, as has the local hospital and specialists I've been seeing.

I think while I've got some time on this planet I want to do something to help them."

The event will be on April 21 when the empty Tesco car park will be turned into a car boot sale from 8am - 1pm on Sunday.
