THE Gazette and Herald has moved house this week, leaving the building in Duke Street, Trowbridge, which had been home to its sister paper the Wiltshire Times for over 170 years, to relocate to modern offices.

The paper's editorial department, who cover the news for the Gazette and the Times across east, north and west Wiltshire, will now be based on the White Horse Business Park in North Bradley, with reporters increasingly spending more time out in the towns they cover.

Gazette and Herald editor Pete Gavan explained: "We feel this is the best way for our reporters to keep in touch with the local news in the towns we serve: you will now see your local reporter more often working in town centres, meeting people for surgeries in libraries and so on and hearing your stories. We also hope to use some of the community campus' and hubs in Corsham, Pewsey, Devizes, Chippenham and Calne.

"Many of the paper's advertising team already spend most of their working day on the road, visiting clients. Staff at the Swindon offices of our sister paper the Advertiser in Swindon will be ready to take phone calls regarding advertising queries: to speak to a member of our advertising team please call 01793 528101 and they will be able to assist you over the phone.

"If you would like to place an In Memoriam, BMD or Public Notice then please call 01793 528144 or email swindonbmds@newswilts.co.uk and one of our team will be able to help you."
