CELEBRITIES have shared video clips backing the Swindon-made campaign Bring Back Oliver's Smile.

The long-running fundraising effort is in aid of Oliver Johnson, aged six and from Oxford, who suffered a serious seizure in 2016.

He was later diagnosed with acute necrotising encephalitis of childhood (ANEC), a rare type of inflammation in the brain, leaving Oliver with severe brain damage.

Fundraiser and family friend Samuel May has launched Project Awareness to spread the word about the condition and has found backing from high-profile figures from across the celebrity world.

In a compilation of videos the campaign got messages from stand up comedian Keith Lemon, Miss GB Kobi-Jean Cole, Megan from Love Island, John Challis who played Boycie from Only Fools and Horses, Saracen from Gladiators, and Marc Lester who played Oliver in the 1968 film Oliver!

Speaking in the video, record-breaking skier from Gloucester Eddie the Eagle said: "I've just put my skis down for a second, because I want talk to you about Oliver. Bring back Oliver's smile. He's a lovely little boy, lets raise lots of money and bring back his smile!"

Samuel May said: "There's a really nice one from Graham Cole as well, he's fantastic.

"This is just as much about raising awareness for Oliver and the illness that he has so that people out there understand it a bit more.

"There's some great comments on how good it is, even a couple of people said it brought them to tears."
