TRAINS are running again after a person was killed by a train between Swindon and Didcot Parkway.
Both lines between the Oxford station and Swindon were blocked in the fatal incident at around 3pm today.
Services coming back from London Paddington were either cancelled or delayed and trains from Bristol Temple Meads were held at Swindon before the tracks were cleared by around 4.05pm before the Friday rush hour.
Stranded passengers held on the lines took to Twitter to ask for help from Great Western Railway which re-routed trains via Reading to get to Paddington and put replacement bus services in place.
Others offered condolences to the person killed.
Charley Maher wrote: “Very sad news, we hope the train driver is ok.”
