A SEX worker was found in her mum’s shed – despite a closure notice banning her from entering the property.

Sophie Quinn, 26, of County Road, admitted breaching the closure notice and failing to surrender to the court.

Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard Quinn had been found by police in the out house at her mother’s Poplar Avenue home on March 23. On the floor of the shed was a mattress, clothing, food and a television. When she was arrested Quinn claimed he three-month closure notice had lapsed.

“It was pointed out to her there was still a notice posted on the outside of the outbuilding,” prosecutor Michelle Hewitt said.

The notice had originally been signed off by magistrates earlier this year after concerns sex worker Quinn and her drug addict brother, Michael Jefferies, were inviting County Lines drug gangs to use the home as a base from which to peddle their product.

Magistrates deferred sentence for three months at the suggestion of the probation service, with the hope that she could benefit from support being offered to her by the authorities and women’s charity The Nelson Trust.

Deborah Slater, chairman of the bench, told Quinn “good luck” as she left the dock.
