SPEEDING drivers face prosecution after police caught them driving near a Blunsdon school at more than 45mph.
Members of the Swindon community policing team carried out speed enforcement checks on Tadpole Lane yesterday morning in response to requests from local residents.
PC Payne and PC Moore of Team 5 Swindon North kept an eye on the 30mph road during school opening hours, issuing several verbal warnings and two drivers could end up in court for travelling at 48mph and 53mph respectively.
PC Payne said: “This is a long open road but still subject to a 30mph restriction.
School signs are also in place which should serve as a warning to drivers to slow down. These checks were carried out at the request of the nearby community.
"If you live elsewhere and have an issue with speeding then please visit the Wiltshire Police website and make contact with your community co-ordinator."
