RUNNERS will take to the start line today for Wiltshire's speediest pub crawl.

50 joggers will run the two mile course, pelting between Wanborough's five pubs in a bid to be the fastest person to sip a pint at each of the watering holes.

Miles Kent, one of the organisers, said: "This is the 63rd running of the beer run and it's always really popular."

Landlady of the Harrow Inn, Michelle Rostami is one of the publicans who will be laying out the half pints for the thirsty runners.

She said:”It’s a great village event and good to have one with pubs at its heart, as pubs have been the centre of villages for centuries.”

The race starts at 12.30pm at the Brewers’ Arms in the High Street, and takes in The Cross Keys, the New Calley Arms, the Plough Inn and Harrow Inn.
