The Wooden Spoon charity for Wiltshire and Dorset is planning to aid more disabled and disadvantaged children after organising rugby-style games on Mount Everest which raised £300,000.
The efforts of retired players, youngsters and followers of the sport in the matches plus the large amount of public support has boosted the rugby charity's overall fundraising total since it was founded in 1983 to more than £26m.
Regional chairman Justin Cliff said:"We are hugely proud of the people across our region who have supported us in so many ways, enabling us to help so many youngsters.
"Our fund raising events are diverse and include charity dinners, golf days, an d we are also planning to set up our own polo team and plan to seek sponsorship from local companies to provide branded polo shirts.
"Our aspirations for 2019 and beyond are to continue to help vulnerable youngsters in our communities by funding innovative projects".
