THUNDERSTORMS could hit Swindon throughout Tuesday night and all of Wednesday.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for the area which is in effect from 9pm on Tuesday to 6pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman said: "Thunderstorms may develop bringing torrential rain, hail and lightning to a few places, with potential disruption to travel and flooding.
"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
"Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost."
There is an 80 per cent chance of heavy rain from 12pm to 2pm on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to hover around 15 degrees C.
