NOMINATIONS for dedicated and committed police volunteers from Swindon are wanted for the 26th Lord Ferrers Awards.

Last year, Wiltshire Police's unmanned aerial support group won in one of the 10 categories after a total of more than 700 nominations were submitted for all the awards and 53 candidates were shortlisted.

Police and Crime Commissioner Angus Macpherson said: “I am very supportive of recognising the hard work and dedication that our volunteers offer in support of policing in Wiltshire.

“Policing and public safety is the duty of us all, and we’re very lucky in Wiltshire to have so many volunteers that give their time to support our policing family, and make a difference in their local communities.

“We now need people to nominate those volunteers who stand out from the crowd, so they can be put forward for the national awards.”

Nominations can be submitted until July 15 using this form: gov.uk/government/publications/lord-ferrers-awards-2019
