A MAN was stabbed in the buttocks in a late night robbery in Swindon town centre. 

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the stabbing on Friday night to come forward. 

Officers said a man in his 40s was attacked near the tunnel connecting Station Road with the Oasis leisure centre at around 9.20pm on June 21. He was stabbed once in the buttocks and £40 cash was taken from him. 

He was taken to hospital and discharged on Saturday. 

A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: “Enquiries are ongoing.” 

An eyewitness told the Adver paramedics had taken away a man “covered in blood”.
