A PAEDOPHILE whose online profile was ‘Pervyman’ has been spared jail after he was caught with a collection of images of vile child abuse.

Corey Redshaw had a horde of pictures and movies of youngsters being abused, including one of a young boy of five or six with an animal.

The 21-year-old claimed he turned away from using the vile material after he got himself a girlfriend.

But that floundered after social services told a 16-year-old girl’s parents about his online activity and she was barred from seeing him.

Colin Meeke, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court police received intelligence that a particular user had uploaded indecent images to a website.

The material had been put up by a username ‘Pervyman’ which was traced to an IP address at Redshaw’s mother’s home.

Officers went to the house in May last year and while he was not there the property was searched and storage media was seized.

On his return the defendant went to the police station and admitted they would find illicit material stored on the machines and told them where to look.

Mr Meeke said there were 17 pictures and movies in the worst category, a further 22 in the middle and 29 in the least serious band.

They also found 745 prohibited images, almost all of them cartoons, representing children engaged in sexual activity.

He was brought in for further questioning where he again accepted he had been looking for the material, but hadn’t appreciated how much would be found.

“Once he had a new girlfriend he stopped looking at it and tried to avoid going to such sites,” Mr Meeke said.

Redshaw, of Abbey View Road, pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images of children and one of having prohibited images of children.

Alec Small, defending, said his client was a fairly young 21 year old and had lived isolated life prior to the offending.

He said he would now be subject to restrictions which would affect his life and had already had an impact.

“He had been getting friendly with a young woman of 16. Social services were informed, they told her mother and she has prohibited her from speaking to him,” he said.

Judge Jason Taylor QC “I accept you are genuinely and sincerely remorseful. You are a young man immature for your age. You are genuinely ashamed.

“In your case there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation and you have significant mitigation.”

He imposed a 20-month jail term suspended for two years with supervision and a sex offenders programme, 200 hours of unpaid work and £500 costs.
