A GAS company has pledged their commitment to supporting members of the military and their families.

Wales and West Utilities, a gas emergency and pipeline service, have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, a pledge that aims to ensure those who have served are treated equally and with respect.

Wales & West Utilities People & Engagement Director, Sarah Hopkins, said: “We are proud to be a company that supports the Armed Forces community and the signing of the covenant demonstrates our commitment to this important sector of society.

“As a company we can support people moving from the Armed Forces into civilian life, chiefly through offers of employment.

“Those in the Armed Forces have skills working both in teams and as self-starters and these can often mirror the work our engineers carry out.”

Wales and West Utilities are already a part of Business in the Community, which enables the company to give opportunity to ex-forces veterans with suitable talents.
