A PEDESTRIAN was left with significant bruising after he was struck by a Nissan Micra in Swindon town centre.

And police crash investigators have asked for a second pedestrian, who they believe was nearly hit by the same car, to come forward and help officers with their investigation.

The incident, which happened at around 2.50pm on Thursday, closed Commercial Road for at least an hour.

Wiltshire Police said a man in his 60s was hit by a black Nissan Micra. He injured his hand and received significant bruising down the right hand side of his body and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The driver remained at the scene to exchange details.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “It is believed that the vehicle also nearly struck a second pedestrian and officers would like to hear from this person as part of their investigation into the incident.

“Anyone who has information is asked to call 101 and ask to speak to PC Alexandra Way of the Roads Policing Unit.”
