A SERIES of summer events at the renovated Carriage Works kicks off later this month.

First, a free day of workshops, networking and talks with experts and businesses that have set up shop inside the Workshed will be held there from 9am to 5pm on Wednesday July 24.

A Workshed spokeswoman said: "The beautiful Workshed is Swindon's answer to the workspace revolution. We provide space for entrepreneurs, pioneers and creative thinkers to innovate, connect and grow."

Talks range from apprenticeships, finding expertise, branding, advertising online, growth, funding small businesses and more.

Digital 'creatives' and those who are less tech-savvy can chat and drink and try out cutting-edge technology at the Digital Drinks Swindon event by Blueflame Digital on Monday July 29 from 5.30pm to 11pm.

Guests can have a go at virtual reality with the HTC Vive, check out innovative hazard perception software in a driving simulator and see how AR technology can help environmental projects.

Plus, co-working opportunities are available at the Workshed's offices throughout the month.
