A LONG-SERVING Swindon employee has been crowned Hero of the Year as recognition for her tireless efforts as a dedicated employee.

Sue Baker has worked in Woven's B2B telemarketing department for the last 13 years and her colleagues decided to put her forward for one of the South West Contact Centre Awards' top categories.

When Sue first found out that she had been shortlisted for the award, she said: “I am immensely proud that I have been shortlisted for this award.

"If there is anything I can do to help give something back either to the local charity community or within my workplace I am always happy to help,

"I feel that being shortlisted is my reward for my involvement in bringing everyone together.”

At the awards ceremony at Bristol Aerospace, Sue won the honour and went up on stage to accept it in front of a cheering crowd.

She added: “The people at Woven make it a special place to work. It's great how willing everyone is to help support and encourage each other to grow in their roles and grow in the business.”

A spokesman for the company said: "The team here at Woven are very proud that Sue has been recognised for all her hard work and came away from the awards a well-deserved winner.

"She was nominated for this award to recognise her commitment to making a difference, as well as going above and beyond her role.

"These awards allow contact centres across the south west to showcase the amazing work of their people.

Two other Woven employees from the region were shortlisted in Customer Service Representative of the Year. while another was amongst the finalists for Newcomer of the Year,

The company itself was shortlisted for People Engagement of the Year.

The judging process includes panel judging sessions for individual and team finalists, and site visits for Contact Centre of the Year finalists.
