AN Adver poll has revealed that readers are worried about a no-deal Brexit.
The vote showed 71 per cent of readers who took part were worried that a no-deal situation was even a possibility.
But 23 per cent indicated that people should be more optimistic when it comes to the UK’s chances outside of Europe without a deal.
The poll comes after the Office of Budget Responsibility said Britain’s economy could be pushed into a recession by 2020 if we end up with a no-deal Brexit, as favoured by prime ministerial hopeful Boris Johnson.
In the executive summary, the OBR said: “Heightened uncertainty and declining confidence deter investment, while higher trader barriers weigh on exports. Together these push the economy into recession, with asset prices and the pound falling sharply.”
