THE manager of a Highworth hair salon is in the running to win a top national award.

Karoliina Saunders Hair Design has made it to the final six shortlisted for the Manager of the Year award at this year's British Hairdressing Business Awards.

Karoliina said: “Working with people is stretching, but it’s also the most wonderful experience.

"Managing a salon is more than just overseeing what happens practically on a daily basis, it’s about creating amazing connections within the team. I absolutely love my job and I’m thrilled to be nominated.”

Karoliina opened her salon in 2013 on Sheep Street and has worked with Highworth's residents and international models..

She impressed judges with her management skills, teamwork and leadership style.

A final interview will determine the winner, who will be announced in September at a glitzy London ceremony.

The awards' executive director Jayne Lewis-Orr said: "To be named as a finalist in this category confirms just how exceptional Karoliina is.

"She has crafted an amazing team, able to guide individuals through their tasks and be on top of all the day-to-day details, as well as having a vision for how the salon is experienced, creating a fantastic vibe all round.

“Karoliina has a beautiful management flavour, creating safety and vibrancy. Being able to work with different personalities and intertwine them into a cohesive team is a true mark of incredible leadership. We wish her the best of luck.”
