Offices in Lydiard Fields which used to be occupied by Burmah Castrol are now under new ownership

Auckland House in the West Swindon business park near Junction 16 of the M4 has been bought by Smethurst Property Consultants on behalf of financial advice network Openwork Holdings Ltd.

This move is part of a plan to create 50,000sq ft of office space in a campus of two buildings on one site for the company including existing space at Washington House.

Chief executive Mark Duckworth said: "Smethurst is the perfect partner for Openwork and their support throughout the acquisition of Auckland House has been tremendous.

"Our business is growing and it is important to us that we invest in staff wellbeing by enhancing the working environment of Openwork employees.”

The property consultants have been retained to market the second floor of Auckland House.

Daniel Smethurst of Smethurst Property Consultants said "This was not a straightforward property transaction in as this off-market transaction involved negotiations with multiple parties as well as keeping market forces at bay.

"We are delighted with the end result as Openwork have the security of the Phase 3 development land going forward and peace of mind that they will have high quality office accommodation coming online later this year."

"We are delighted to have been involved with this transaction and to have offered strategic commercial property advice to Openwork."
