Planners have recommended that proposals to build two new houses on land next to an existing house - creating a single building divided into three separate properties be approved.
That's despite the objections of five neighbours and concerns of the local ward councillor.
The plans of a Mr and Mrs Smedley, who live in Bodmin in Cornwall to construct the homes next to 5 Barnfield Close in Even Swindon will be discussed and decided by Swindon Borough Council's planning committee after being called in by Labour ward councillor Jim Robbins.
He and neighbours are concerned the building would be over developing the site and affect neighbours - particularly over looking them or putting them in shadow.
The officers report says: "The development would not be uncharacteristic in its location, being seen as an extension of the terrace it adjoins. It would benefit from an adequately sized plot, no dissimilar in size to the host property at 5, and 4, 3 and 2 Barnfield Close.
