Students at Swindon Academy were celebrating today after recieving their A-level and vocational results.
Across the sixth form there was an increase in the number of top grades being achieved with 26 per cent of the entries achieving A* to B grades.
For vocational courses, 62 per cent of entries achieved the highest possible grades of distinction or distinction*.
A highlight for the school was their Cheltenham Town FC students with many of them receiving the top grades in the sport extended diploma.
Ruth Robinson, executive principal of the Swindon and Nova Hreod Academies, said: "Our sixth formers can take great pride in their achievements today, as a fitting reward for their hard work, ambition and determination over many years of study.
"It is particularly pleasing that students have not only achieved more of the top A-level grades than last year, but that this has enabled so many of them to secure the university places of their choice.
"Importantly, this sort of success in the sixth form cascades down throughout our school, inspiring our younger students to strive to achieve just as highly.
"We look forward to building on these achievements as we welcome a new cohort this September and continue to take the sixth form from strength to strength."
