AN ALCOHOLIC whose Pinehurst home has become a magnet for boorish behaviour has been told by doctors to stop drinking – or face death.

Deborah Leach’s Acacia Grove home has now become the latest to be made subject to a three-month closure order.

Magistrates heard the alcoholic’s home was the focus of issues around anti-social behaviour, with late night drinking.

PC Mike Diffin, bringing the order application for Wiltshire Police, said Ms Leach was seriously ill. She had been told by her consultant “If she continues to consume alcohol at the rate she is doing, she will die imminently”.

A closure order would prevent her booze-addicted associates from visiting the house and help make it easier for carers to support her, he added.

Since an temporary closure notice had been signed by the superintendent, officers had been able to take her to appointments at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Magistrates granted the three month order.
