RAILWAY Works images painted from life are among the pieces on show at a Richard Jefferies Museum art exhibition.
Veteran fine artist John Webb’s free exhibition at the Coate venue is part of this year’s Swindon Open Studios programme.
Some of the pieces were painted at the Railway Works in 1962, when John was an art student.
Others are of the Jefferies museum site, which was once the family home and garden of the Victorian nature writer and campaigner for rural workers’ rights.
John said: “I have done some research and painted them as they would have been 100 years ago.”
John trained at Swindon Art School, where he was a contemporary of fellow Swindon artist Ken White, and Birmingham School of Art, and has held many exhibitions.
The museum show is open today until 5pm and tomorrow from 11am until 5pm.
