Four applications to build new houses and flats, including the conversion of town centre shops and the historic Great Western Railway telephone exchange will be discussed and decided next week.
Swindon Borough Council's planning committee will meet next Tuesday to decide the applications.
One is to use the abandoned and fenced-off telephone exchange in Firefly Avenue among the historic buildings now used by the Designer Outlet and the National Trust .
If approved, the building, which is next door to the railway line could be converted into seven flats.
A shop in Cricklade Street could be converted into two flats, with another six apartments built in its back yard if the plans put forward by the owner are given the green light.
The other two applications are for a new house to be built in Dunley Close in Stratton St Andrews and for two in Marlborough Road in Chiseldon.
The meeting starts at 6pm on Tuesday November 12.
