THE mayor of Swindon is preparing for a song and dance showcase next week to support good causes close to his heart.
A night packed full of live performances will raise money for the mayor’s chosen charities CALM - Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement - and the Swindon and North Wiltshire Deaf Children’s Society.
The lineup will include Phoebe Maddison, Billy and Louie, Judith Hockaday School of Dance and Drama, Bollynach, Danzexpress, the Military Wives Choir, the Great Western Youth Band and BigSingThing.
Coun Kevin Parry said: “Anyone who has had the pleasure of attending any of our fundraising events this year will tell you how well organised and how much fun they are.
“This event will showcase some of Swindon’s finest talent.”
The concert begins at 6.30pm on Saturday November 23. A raffle and auction will boost the total raised for the mayor’s charities.
Plus, a Christmas carol service with mince pies and mulled wine will end the year with another fundraiser for the mayor's charities. It will be held in the council chamber at the Civic Offices on Euclid Street from 7pm on Friday December 13.
Tickets for the Song and Dance Showcase at Meca cost £5 each and can be bought on the door or booked online in advance.
