FLOOD alerts have been issued for areas of Purton Stoke, Cricklade and Royal Wootton Bassett following prolonged rainfall.
And rising river levels have resulted in property flooding just up the A419 in Cerney Wick where a flood warning is in force .
The Environment Agency said: "Water levels on the River Thames from Calcutt to Lechlade are high and steady as a result of heavy rainfall over the past week, the river is currently out of banks. There is no further rainfall forecast tonight with a few showers tomorrow, but the risk of flooding remains as water moves through the river systems. We are closely monitoring the situation."
It urged: "Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
