RESCUE volunteers were put through their paces during a three day exercise.
Operation Resilient Endeavour was led by Chilmark-based Serve On who were joined by Wiltshire Search and Rescue, Team Rubicon UK, Wessex 4x4, Support 2 Ops, RAYNET and a team from Rapid Relief.
The exercise, which started on November 30, involved around 100 volunteers who tackled tasks including flood rescues and evacuations, searches for missing people, dog searches and more.
Part of the exercise took place in various locations in Salisbury, including Queen Elizabeth Gardens and Harnham Mill.
Craig Elsdon, the operations manager for Serve On, said it was “fantastic” and the “learning objectives were achieved”.
“The teams worked hard and got lots out of it,” he added.”I want to say a massive thanks to all the landowners and various organisations that helped us.”
The organisations that took part in the exercise are voluntary and looking for more volunteers. Go to serveon.org.uk
